Thoughtful Snacks is a 100% family-owned and operated business, headquartered in Pleasanton, Texas. Making pork rinds has been a Treviño family tradition for generations. When the Treviño’s were quarantined at home in 2020, they snacked on their family favorite: chicharrones! Much like others in quarantine, the Treviño’s found themselves cooking at home, and experimenting with new recipes while also enjoying quality family time together.

Chicharrones are a Mexican snack staple. If you don’t know, these are crunchy, savory snacks that go back many generations. But, the Treviño’s wanted to elevate pork rinds, and thus began the process to air fry them, removing the grease and fat, making them more relevant for today’s taste buds. Switching up this recipe conjured up a sweet tooth craving, and that is what set off the lightbulb! What if we paired the chicharrones with hmm... CHOCOLATE!?! What a concept, right?

One may think these two would not pair well together, but in true Treviño entrepreneurial fashion, this family found a way to turn the unconventional into a great idea! They started their culinary journey, slaving over a hot stove, at all hours of the night until they found the perfect crunchy and sweet concoction... and guess what?! This special twist was a HIT! After numerous reviews from family and friends about their innovative snack idea, the Treviño’s began selling Coco Chops at local farmers' markets and grocery stores and received many rave reviews from their new customers. The Treviño’s feel an immense sense of pride keeping the family tradition alive and reinventing it for a new generation... and for so many generations to come!
